Wherever I lay my head whenever I travel depends on three major things. First, I am looking for a safe area and environment. Second, I am looking for a nice view or something close to a nice view. Last but not least I’m looking for comfort. If I have these three I am happy about wherever it is I am staying while away from home. To me, hotels, resorts, & airbnb all have their pros and cons.
I love a nice airbnb. It gives me the home away from home vibe. Usually comfortable bedding, access to the host, and even though there are rules you are free to be alone without other strangers being in your space. Airbnb is great when I travel with my girls (7 and ). Generally, something with a pool, they have their own room, and I may cook breakfast from time to time instead of rushing out to a restaurant to eat first thing in the morning. It’s just family friendly and cozy.
Hotels are Meh. I find it difficult sometimes to get the exact room that’s portrayed in the pictures being advertised. Oh that room is not available, only one bed available, oh there will be an extra charge for that room, and blah blah blah. On a positive note they come and clean up after you daily, offer room service, and may have complimentary breakfast in the mornings. I don’t know what it is but I feel a little closed in at times in hotels. But I am a sucker for a great view.
Resorts. Hmmm. I have mixed feelings. All inclusive sounds great for the most part. However, depending on where you stay it is a hit or miss on food and alcoholic beverages if you choose to partake. Most times the food is buffet style and it gives me elementary cafeteria vibes. In my experience it’s usually not the best options. The food isn’t terrible, but not mouth watering either. On the other hand all inclusive resorts generally has unlimited food and drinks. There is also onsite activities and entertainment. If you’re on a beach you may enjoy water activities such as jet skis or paddle board. Entertainment may include live music and interactive activities with guests on the resort. A super plus is being able to just go back to your room because you never left the resort.
So what do you prefer ?
